MAHARAJA SIR HARENDRA KISHORE SINGH - The Last Ruler of Bettiah Raj

Maharaja Sir Harendra Kishore Singh was the last ruler of Bettiah Raj. Maharaja Sir Harendra Kishore Singh was born in 1854 and succeeded his father, the late Maharaja Rajendra Kishore Singh Bahadur in 1883 and in 1884 received the title of Maharaja Bahadur as a personal distinction and a Khilat and a sanad from the hands of the Lieutenant Governor of Bengal, Sir Augustus Rivers Thompson.^[1] He was created a Knight Commander of the Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire on 1 March 1889.^[2] He was appointed a member of the Legislative Council of Bengal in January, 1891.^[3] He was also a member of The Asiatic Society [1] He was the last ruler of Bettiah Raj.

Maharaja Sir Harendra Kishore Singh Bahadur died issueless on March 26, 1893 leaving behind him two widows, Maharani Sheo Ratna Kuer and Maharani Janki Kuer.

So great was the esteem in which Maharaja Sir Harendra Kishore Singh was held by the Government that the Lt. Governor of Bengal Antony MacDonnell, 1st Baron MacDonnell came to Bettiah personally to offer his condolence on his death.

There are numerous educational institutions in the name of the last Maharaja of Bettiah. Some prominent ones are :

1. Maharaja Harendra Kishor Inter College at Motihari and
2. Maharaja Harendra Kishore Public Library, Bettiah (renamed in the name of the last Maharaja on his birthday in 1955 from Victoria Memorial Library)

बोलने वाला और हांखने वाला आज के दुनिया में बहुत मिलेंगे मगर सच  कर्म और धर्म पालन करने वाले बहुत कम  हैं।  आज भी इस महान वंश का  नाम उसके परोपकारी कर्म और दान कर्म के वजह से जाग्रित है । तुलना का आधार धर्म और कर्म है और कुछ नहीं।  हर हर महादेव।  

महारानी जानकी कुंवर कॉलेज भी इसी महारानी के नाम पर है।

Shri Balram Rai of Bilaspur Estate was one of the 29 members of the 1st Bihar Legislative Council that was formed Under the Govt. of India Act, 1935. . 

Chainpur Babu - Telpa wale Babaji

Following is the portrait (from earlier part of 20th century) of a Chainpur Babu who started the Planters Association in Telpa, Chhapra.(Saran). His house is still there at Telpa and is referred to as Chainpur Kothi (Telpa Kothi)

He was the eldest son of Babu Surya Deo Narayan Singh of Chainpur Estate and popularly referred to as Telpa wale Babaji. He is the brother of Babu Trivikram Deo Narayan Singh of Chainpur.

चैनपुर के बाबूसाहब त्रिविक्रम देव नारायण सिंह जैसे भगवान श्री कृष्ण का पूजा करते थे वैसे ही वो भगवन शिव के भी बड़े पुजारी थे।  यहाँ पे उनका चांदी का शिव लिंग फ़ूलों से सजा हुआ -

 

 

वैसे भी जहाँ नारायण का पूजा होता है , वहां शिव जी का भी पूजा होना तय है। 

 

Chainpur Estate - Babu Trivikram Deo Narayan Singh's LORD SREE KRISHNA aka LALA (Laddu Gopal)

भगवान श्री कृष्ण ज़ी का यह बाल रूप चैनपुर के भूमिहार जमींदार बाबू त्रिविक्रम देव नारायण सिंह द्वारा  पूजा जाता था। यह मूर्ति अष्ट धातू की बनी हुई है और आज भी चैनपुर मैं इनकी पूजा बड़े निष्ठा और समर्पण से होती है।  सब कुछ तो इन्ही का है - यह सोच , यह बुद्धि , यह संसार , यह वातावरण और सबसे बड़ा यह समय । यही सारथी बनकर राजा को धर्म का एहसास दिलाते और अधर्मी को पाताल भी भेज देते।  
  

 

 

The Lord is all decked up in ornaments and is as beautiful as the world he himself created symbolized by the flamboyance showcased.  The biggest hero mankind has ever heard of - The flute which he would play would make Vrindavan a "heaven" for the cow herds and as a simple charioteer would ruthlessly bring justice to the entire Aryavrata. The Ignorant Karna brought up as a charioteer's son but wants to bask in the company of his evil and unholy acquaintances - when sees the Lord himself as Charioteer ordering a Pandava prince to kill AngaRaj - realizes the truth that this charioteer is the King of Kings.

This is the family temple of Babu Kavindra Deo Narayan Singh - once again another Eksaria Temple for Lord Shiva ....

Just like mentioned earlier, it is the duty of the Eksaria to pray to Mahadev (Lord Shiva) - This is basic sanskara which each person should possess. And those who don't worship Maha Kaal , then they are also lost in the sands of Time.

The family of Babu Kavindra Deo Narayan Singh has migrated to Benaras - probably a few generations ago. मगर जिसने भगवान  शिव को अपना लिया , देर-सवेर, वक़्त उसे याद रखेगा ।
